The hollywood white teeth shades are extremely white colored teeth that are highly prized by hollywood celebrities, hence the name.
Our purpose today is to show you what the color of these hollywood white teeth look like and also explain how you can go about getting them.
Hollywood white teeth color
The hollywood white teeth shades are also known as the bleached shades by dentists. There are many tooth shade guides out there but a popular one is the VITA toothguide 3D master with bleached shades.
The extremely white hollywood colors are a part of the 0M family of tooth colors and it comes in 3 shades. We’ve listed them below in descending order from whitest to darkest.
- 0M1 (whitest)
- 0M3 (darkest)
As you can tell from the image above, they all look snow white. Can you even see any yellow in there? We sure can’t. If you wanted a reference as to how white they actually are you can compare them to one of the darkest and yellowest tooth shades, A4, shown below.
These colors can be used for veneers, crowns, fillings, and even denture teeth.
0M1 tooth shade
The 0M1 tooth color is the whitest shade in existence. It is so white that if you had veneers in this color, people would know immediately that you had dental work done.
Below is a video where we compare the 0M1 shade to all of the natural colors of teeth.
0M2 tooth shade
The 0M2 tooth color is the second whitest bleached shade.
Video below compares the 0M2 shade to all of the natural teeth colors.
0M3 tooth shade
The 0M3 tooth color is the third whitest bleached shade but is also the darkest one out of the three.
The tooth shade 0M3 is actually our favorite veneer color. It is whiter than the whitest natural tooth color B1 but it is not excessively white. It looks the most natural and most people wouldn’t be able to tell if you had dental work done.
Below is a video where we compare the 0M3 color to the rest of the natural teeth colors.
As you can see in the video, despite this shade being the “darkest” bleached tooth shade, it is still very white.
How to get teeth that white
The only way to get your teeth into the hollywood white colors would be if you used a combination of teeth whitening and porcelain veneers. Yes, both are required especially if your teeth are naturally very yellow.
The reason is because dental veneers are a very thin piece of porcelain so the color of your underlying tooth will show through it.
- If your teeth are average or decently white, just getting veneers may be sufficient in achieving the 0M1, 0M2, or 0M3 tooth shades.
- However, if your teeth are very yellow, even if you get the 0M1 tooth color, the yellowness from your teeth may show through to the veneer.
In our opinion, for best results you should whiten your teeth as much as you can prior to getting the veneers. This minimizes the show through of dark or yellow teeth through the porcelain laminates.
Maintaining the whiteness
After you finish your whitening and getting the veneers, the overall color still needs to be maintained in order to remain that white. The given thing to do is to brush them, floss them, and also get your biannual dental check ups.
However what most people don’t realize is that even if you have veneers, your teeth can still darken very slowly over a long period of time. Yes, veneers do not change colors but your natural tooth underneath of it can darken.
Don’t forget that veneers only cover the front half of your teeth but it leaves the back half exposed. Over time, the back part of your teeth can darken and if it darkens enough, the color can start to show through the veneer.
Therefore the solution proposed by us is to periodically whiten the back part of your teeth. This is very non-traditional because most whitening products whiten only the front half of your teeth while leaving the back half untouched.
Key points on how to maintain hollywood white veneers:
- Periodically whiten the back half of your teeth.
- Keep them clean by brushing and flossing them.
- Get your dental check ups and cleanings.
Which color is best for me?
As a general rule of thumb, if you were picking a veneer color, we highly recommend going about 2-3 shades lighter than your natural teeth. If you choose one that is much whiter than 2-3 shades it may stand out too much.
Below is the veneer color chart just to give you an idea of the increasing levels of whiteness.
Well there is also the alternative option of just getting veneers on all of your teeth and not just the front ones. If you do decide to veneer your entire mouth, you can literally choose whatever color that you want.
The hollywood white teeth shades are very white teeth that can be achieved through a combination of whitening and veneers. Teeth don’t naturally come this white but the aesthetics are highly desired by A-list celebrities.
